I booked a ticket 4 months before my flight, they did not have any warning about transit Visa requirement for the fare, neither did they give me a warning after I booked it. (Every major booking site does that, full disclosure id required by law). Lufthansa notified me one day before they flight, they were ready to change the route, but need Vayama to do it, but Vayam could not help me. Lufthansa people asked them to do a conference call, vayama has no way to do a conference call. All in all they messed up my travel plans, I had to buy a new tickect for 1500+ and which they could have just modified the route to avoid transit Visa.
I asked them for refund but all that happen was their phone disconnected, these are very hard people to deal with and I would never every recommend anyone no matter how cheap the tickets are, they are a fraud company.
Don't do any business with they people... I wish I could give them -ve points
H I had a horrible experience with Orbitz and was looking for a different site for my international travel. BTS was okay, but they didn't reflect the actual price of the ticket until late in the booking process. Tried Vayama, liked it. Tried it again, liked it again. Had only one problem with Vayama, but unlike Orbitz, Vayama resolved it quickly and efficiently.
I am writing regarding my experience in vayama service. i booked my ticket in Kayak and the booking went straight to vayama. My flight was from Boston Logan airport to Philippines. I have a connecting flight to Toronto and Vancouver.
The day of my departure I was ready to check in the airport, Air Canada won't allow me to fly because I don't have a visa for my stop over in Canada, they advice me to contact vayama to arrange another booking for me. So I called vayama to explain my situation, since Air Canada won't allow me to fly, I cancelled my flight. I asked to booked another ticket for me to fly that day since I was already in the airport. But the representative didn't help me, I was soooo stressed and upset. I asked for a ticket refund, the representative told me that it was my responsibility to know the documents needed in the travel. I was very disappointed about the situation. Instead of helping me and now i got the blame. They should put a notice that visa was needed in that flight before I buy the ticket and I don't have any idea that visa is needed in a connecting flight. It is the travel agency responsibility to inform their client about this important factors. I already bought my ticket to another agency and I am waiting for my ticket refund.
Vayama failed my expectation of a good customer service. I WILL NOT BOOKED MY FLIGHT AGAIN IN VAYAMA and I will not recommend either! I felt that i am being cheated.
I am still waiting for my ticket refund, i didn't receive any respond. Please make some action and provide a better service.

I booked a flight for myself and my wife through Vayama for Virgin Atlantic airways. Cost: 3,252.76 USD. First we were told that they would refund us for illness, and then they said airline declined and they cant do anything. Then told us we can rebook free of charge, but now they are charging us. I just dont understand these liars. I provided necessary docs, and still they dont consider it anything? SO upset, I have no choice but to fly against medical reason, I really wish they atleast didnt charge to rebook or change anything :((((((((( My flight is in dec 2013
Vayama is charging 100 fee, and virgin atlantic charging 275$ Why cant you dicuss and reduce price. If I can rebook free of charge it would really help me. I have a very serious illness reason, and still you deny people like this? Least I expected.
PLEASE DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM!
I booked a ticket via Kayak 2.5 months prior to my departure, the booking went straight to Vayama.com. My 4 hour flight schedule with TAM had changed, 4 hours after my booking. Vayama.com did not provide any information regarding the change until 5 days before my travel date, forced me to take an alternative flight, which take 14.5 hours and cheaper than the original flight I purchased. I tried to fix by calling the airline and get an alternative flight (takes 6 hours, instead of 14.5 hours), the agent failed to booked that flight over the weekend even though I made them conference via my line and made a confirmation of this fight twice. The agent came back to me 3 days before my departure, and again forced me to take the 14.5 hours flight as the 6 hours flight was booked (2 days after all parties agreed). Vayama.com failed to perform its task multiple times. I therefore decided to book a new flight directly with the airline i.e. more expensive as the travel date is in 2 days, the flight I got with the airline is horrible time schedule as I was left with no choice and I needed to be at the destination. I requested Vayama.com to give a full refund, I DO NOT WISH TO CONTACT THIS AGENT VAYAMA.COM ever again in my life. AND Every call I had with the representatives was rude, incompetent, not helpful, and unacceptable, in some call the representatives hang up the phone on me, yelled and screamed at me. THE OVERALL EXPERIENCE IS HORRIBLE, UNACCEPTABLE, NIGHTMARE, AND DEFINITELY NOT WORTH A STAR FOR THIS REVIEW.
My conclusion for services I received,
• The agency is not providing the best option available for the client
• The agency failed to perform its task properly e.g. not provide the information of the flight change in advance, forced client to take the option that is almost impossible to take (14 hours and 30 mins flight for when there is an alternative)
• The agency does not resume any responsibility for its fault and mistake in providing the service
• The agency is rude, incompetent and definitely the worst one that I ever experienced in my life.
Vayama is one of the few online booking services that includes small Caribbean airlines in its search. With other sites I usually have to book separately... the US to a major hub in the Caribbean. Then book directly with a smaller airline (LIAT or WinAir) for the second leg. The biggest disadvantage is that we end up paying repeated luggage fees and have to claim and recheck our luggage at the hub.
Vayama is the only site that found us a through ticket!
When I tried to book my flight using one credit card, everything seemed okay and I received a flight confirmation/receipt. But three hours later, there was another e-mail from Vayama saying my booking had been cancelled because they had failed to authorize my credit card. So I booked again using a different credit card. Again, I received a confirmation/receipt, but no cancellation notice, so appears this booking was successful. However, on checking my credit card accounts today, I discovered that BOTH have been billed - for the SAME TRIP! I have actually been billed by Vayama for a flight that THEY cancelled! I have contacted them to seek immediate reaccrediting of the erroneously charged amount. If they do the right thing and promptly then this has simply been a bothersome and annoying experience. At worst, if they claim that it is not their fault, try to pass the buck or accuse me of double booking and refuse to pay, then it is fraud and I will seek further action.
Vayama is great for finding low fares on international flights. I was able to find flights/fares that other sites did not offer. However, I found that the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I made a slight mistake in the reservation. I used the person middle instead of the first because I didn't she went by her middle name. When I asked Vayama's customer service, they told me that they would have to reissue the ticket and that it would cost me $370 ($320 adjustment for the current price of the ticket and $50 processing fee, which goes to Vayama). When I questioned them on the exorbitant fees, they claimed to have contacted the airline and said that it was the airline's policy. I have a feeling there were not fully truthful. It seems to me they offered me a solution that required minimal effort on their part. When I contacted the airline myself , I was able to make the name change for $34 (though it required four phone calls). I give them 2 stars for the low fares, but buyer beware, low fares also means low service.
Almost every time I book an international flight I end up using Vayama. I always go there first to get prices and then I will go to individual airlines and Vayama has beat their prices all but once.
Very easy to use and understand ticket and pricing.
Absolutely would advise you to check it out!
Now that I see that their reviews are relatively low on here, I get why I am so annoyed.
I have purchased air tickets from Vayama more than a couple times, generally because they sell cheaper tickets on Kayak.com. No wonder they sell cheap tickets because their customer service is not exceptional and SO frustrating. First, they informed me through e-mail they upped the price of the ticket about $25 from what they initially posted on the internet. Okay, fine. So it went from $473 to $498. I accepted their new charge so they could process the payment. It was taking them so long to send me the confirmation e-mail so I requested for one and their customer service responds by saying they will send "another" confirmation e-mail per total fare of $473. Now I am confused. Is it $473 or $498?? From there, I had to deal with the hassle of writing back to their pointless customer service e-mail 3 times and even called them 2 separate times when I need just one thing, the confirmation e-mail. I mean come on, are they serious. I invested my energy into this?
And every time, the customer service rep says, "We already sent the confirmation e-mail, you would like for us to send it again?" Oh really? Then why isn't it in my inbox after I checked spam multiple times? Plus you sent me the verification e-mail to the same address? UGH.. I've never had to call back a travel agency so many damn times with NO positive results.
The customer service reps are not very nice either. Probably because they deal with so many complaints and mad customers all day. This is why I say BYE to Vayama.
As I went to book through Kayak (vayama) The fare increased. I figured it was still a reasonable price and decided to continue to book. Within 24 hours I got an email from cheaptickets (not even kayak or vayama) saying the fare increased, the increase was over $200 per traveler. I was confused as to wether this was indeed even the trip I booked. Called customer service they apologized for sending a confirmation through a different company and then did state the fares have increased. THIS IS A COMPLETELY USELESS SERVICE what's the point of booking, sending all the credit card information if they can just change the fares the next day. I will never use this service again

Booked ticket through kayak. Had to make a simple change on the ticket. Vayama said the "Credit Card company bounced " the transaction back was told I had to call. Credit card company said there was nothing wrong and there was not an attempted charge. Called Vayama back they said okay they will submit. Then I get an email back from them that their is a new rate (which was approximately $600 more and it said " we don't guarantee the price of the change". This back and forth went on until monday when I was assured that the ticket had been changed. We even looked on Vayamas site and Luftansas site and the change was there.
Yesterday ,I received an email dated september 25 th that we needed to pay for the change. So, I called Vayama to make sure everything is okay and gave them another credit card. This time they told me it was okay and the passenger can fly today .
This morning, I received an email from the passenger that the departure information disappeared from both Vayama and Lufthansa(the departure was missing but the return part was still in the system) when he went to the airport the airline said they have no record of the ticket.
Angry I went directly to the airlines site and booked my colleague on a later flight (with no issues)
About 20 minutes ago ,a Vayama "customer service" rep called. I cut him off told him I wanted a refund he told me he couldn't give me a refund because the person flying missed the flight and the "airline" didn't make refunds. Asked to speak to a supervisor. He refused several times. I told him that they are committing fraud. He insisted they are not and that the passenger didn't show up for the flight ,therefore they will not refund the ticket!
I told him I would go on every review site and tell what happened. He said I'm hanging up, good buy!!!
Save your money and the aggravation ,Don't go through Kayak or Vayama. Simply look on kayak then go directly to the air carrier and purchase the same ticket for probably less money and less stress.

I had a problem with my trip which was originally booked from Kayak and your team worked hard on cancelling it and thus help me save some money in unnecessary fees. They could have made me pay the change fees for airline and then the Vayama service fees, but they worked with the airline in getting in cancelled. The agent I worked with was named "Gloria" was wonderful in helping me resolve the issue.
Thanks and keep up the good service. Thanks
Mein Tip: NICHT MIT VAYAMA BUCHEN!
We have an unforeseen family emergency and my husband has to fly from Austria back to Milwaukee. Over the last three days now we have tried to get a return ticket from Vayama with no result. We tried the on-line/email servcie contact at first, where we received a prompt email that no other flights are available with the same airline and within the same class. Frustrated about this inpersonal communication line I called the service number yesterday and spend over an hour talking to a representative with an indian English sccent (I guess I was actually calling India on a not-toll-free line). He finally said that the "Excahnage Team" will contact me via email within the next 24 hours and that was it. I unfortunately believed him that that will change the situation but we received the same inpersonal email message as we had gotten before. Facit: No result. The next available flight through this service is on November 25th - our regular back flight leaves on October 19th!? We have to book through the air line now and wil have to let go off the original flight: Total Costs: >$1900
My advice for travelers: DON"T BOOK WITH VAYAMA!!!!!!
I was originally very excited about booking my tickets through Vayama because it seemed like such a great deal. I have had to cancel my ticket due to medical reasons, but my husband flew out today to Japan. To begin with, it has been EXTREMELY difficult trying to process a schedule change with Vayama. We had originally planned a multi-trip itinerary to fly to Japan and then Korea for a few days before returning to the US. However, my husband cannot make the Korea portion of the trip anymore. When I called Vayama to change his flight itinerary, I spoke with 4 different people, including a supervisor, and EVERYONE gave me different answers. I was told only the airlines could correct my ticket. I called Japan Airlines directly and they informed me only VAYAMA could process the change. After much time spent on the phone and several emails back and forth, I am still awaiting a response from Vayama concerning my husbands return flight. One person informed me that he would simply have to take the original flight or he had no options at all. WHAT HE HELL DOES THAT MEAN??? That he's stuck in Japan since he absolutely cannot make the trip to Korea??? The representative offered me no resolution so I had to request to speak with a manager. The manager was a little more understanding and offered to submit a request for a flight reroute but said the airlines may not approve it since they absolutely do NOT allow partial flight cancellations. I promptly hung up and called Japan Airlines and spoke with Bryce, who informed me that Japan Airlines had no problem changing my flight information as long as Vayama submitted the request. He even stated that if Vayama had an issue they could contact JAL directly. So what's the problem, Vayama? Why are you telling me one thing when the airline that he is flying with is telling me another? Also, another huge minus. The flight itinerary clearly states he was flying out of Atlanta International Airport via JAL. When he arrived this morning, they said there was no JAL flights outgoing and he ended up having to hunt down his flight with the help of another airline, and he is now flying out via AMERICAN AIRLINES. How do you NOT include that information??? Atlanta Domestic and International Airports are 2 completely separate buildings off 2 separate exits on the highway!!!! It's clearly not JAL as you stated, and it's not the subsidiary Canadair either. I am very frustrated and concerned because my husbands flight still has not been amended, I need a resolution NOW PLEASE!!!!!!!!!
I booked a trip online with them on 09/29/2013 for my parents travelling from SFO to BKK. I have booked the connecting flights from BKK as well as got tickets confirmed from Expedia but there was no tickets confimation from Vayama until this morning (09/30/2013) that I received booking cancellation notice. I called customer service & they gave me a different phone number to call where nobody answers.
There is no cause stated for cancellation & fares has gone higher compared to yesterday.
What a hell service?
Don't trust Vayama even you are saving couple hundred as you gonna have hard to resolve issues.
I just found out that Vayama booked one of our tickets incorrectly and is not going to help fix their mistake. I have called the airline that the ticket is booked with and they are sorry but they can't help us. They told us we have to go through the booking agent which is Vayama.
Vayama is not worth trying. Please do not use them. We saved around $300 using Vayama's site but wish we had booked directly with the airlines. They will make excuses and feign sympathy but in the end they will not correct their mistakes. I have been to many sites and read reviews. Disappointment and anger from their customers is a common theme.
At this point, we have no recourse and are unsure what to do. So sad.
We just booked a family trip of a lifetime from the USA to the uk and on to Paris. It is just my wife, 5 year old and I. Thank goodness we are flying via other booking agencies in Europe, because we were happily told by vayama that although we were told twice over the phone that they would be able to take care of our seating assignments AFTER we booked; once we booked they said very politely F off and good luck with your 5 year old. They airline that we booked through charges a family of three $126 to reserve seats. So IF your are planning to fly from Denver to the uk in october 2013, I just want to say ahead of time, thank you for caring for our kid during this overnight flight. Oh, and he has motion sickness, thanks.
Yeah, if you're single or don't want to fly with your family, vayama seems okay.
I found a lower fare on Vayama than offered directly by the airline for the same flights. I was a little hesitant about using a third party site, with the associated delay in ticket confirmation. However, I was pleasantly surprised to receive my final confirmation within an hour or two, complete with the Record Locator from the airline and e-ticket numbers. My savings were approximately $100 on what was already a very reasonable fare, which I will definitely find a way to spend on my trip! Also - the airline I used (Iceland Air) does not show up on all third-party sites, which makes a big difference as they are the budget option for the market I was flying into. Not factoring them in would have resulted in much higher fares (as I saw on other sites.) I do plan to contact the airline directly, secure seat assignments, and make sure that they have my contact information, as flight updates, etc. can sometimes get scrambled or delayed when communicated via third parties. I took that into account and will actively monitor my reservation as I my travel time nears - I don't want any hiccups with international flights. Also, I realize that any changes to the reservation will likely be more difficult/expensive due to a third-party site, but as I plan to purchase trip insurance, and my travel plans are quite firm, that was not a deterrent for me.
All in all, I'm pleased with Vayama. I'm a seasoned traveler and make many online arrangements for myself as well as family and friends, and this experience was as good as any I've had in the past with
While booking flights on Kayak via Vayama, I found a few things that needed to be added:
1. the ability to add frequent flyer program numbers to flights being purchased. Once the flights were confirmed, I had to contact each airline individually to add the frequent flyer numbers for the passengers. And because I booked through vayama, I couldn't use the airlines' websites, I had to call them.
2. please provide flight codeshare information. if a flight is sold by one airline, but is actually provided by a partner airline, please provide both flight numbers. for instance, i booked a flight via Lufthansa that is actually provided by United. While I had the Lufthansa flight number, having the United flight number will be more handy at the airport.
3. Provide information on how/when to get seat assignments. again, all seat assignment information had to be gained by calling the airlines individually.
I have a flight booked next week. I need to change the dates (serious illness in family). I called the airline responsible (Philippines Airlines) and they said there would be a change fee and an upcharge fee. Fine, I'll pay it. But they said I have to do it through Vayama. Philippine airlines tell me the approximate fee will be USD$299 ($175 change fee; $124 upcharge to new fare class). Ok, so that's what I have to pay, plus, of course, the Vayama change fee of $100. I'm not delighted but I bought the original ticket with those conditions.
Simple enough you would think? The airline has seats and I'm willing to pay the change fee.
Not so fast. I contact Vayama to ask them to change to ANY date after October 8. They email back and say, no, won't do it, no flights available at that fare class on the dates I specified.. None available for any date after October 8 after I've already confirmed availability wtih the ariline? I don't think so. No discussion of the upcharge that Philippine Airlines already quoted me? Pretty bad.
Bottom line, you would be foolish to use this agency if any other way to book is available.
Not even 1 star.. to put reciew i have to give then 1 star...I am having horrible time with them getting refund for cancellation. I had confirmed ticket with them( as per their system tickets were confirmed and seats were assigned). On day of travel ( mind you international flight to US from India) at the airport found out that because of vayama's mistake of payment (not even my mistake as they already charged entire amount from my credit card right away) airline didnt got the payment. So first route of flight was canceled by airline while connecting flights they didn't canceled. As per airline they did informed Vayama by email. I never got any communication related to this by either Vayama or airline prior. So airline didnt allowed to board. Moreover when I put Vayama supervisor to talk with airport staff they didn't listend at all to Vayama's point that tickets were confirmed.
So spending 3 hours in resolving this matter with Vayama i was told by Vayama supervisor that I have cancel entire ticket and fly on some other day. And I was promised by words, email that FULL refund will be given as this was mistake from Vayama/Airline.
It's been almost a month and now when I asked them for refund status they are making excuse of customer name is different in new ticket which I bought. How stupid is that when you have same passport number details.
They are just making excuse to not refund entire amount. Totally unprofessional.
Vayama if you are reading this then take this matter seriously because now I don't trust any of your supervisor or on call staff. Don't give me any diplomatic answer; I am expecting some resolution to this. FULL refund !!!!
Just early this morning, i was asked by my father-in-law to book a fllight for him cheaper than $210 from china to philippines. as i was searching on google, VAYAMA.com was one of the firsts on the list. among the websites i opened, VAYAMA was the cheapest of all. i booked a ticket for only $191.50 / HK$ 1485.00 ALL-IN! but VAYAMA emailed me that my ticket is still on the process.. i was doubtful about it because VAYAMA said confirmation will take until 48hours from booking the ticket..
my husband was telling me that i should search for some reviews about VAYAMA. so i searched. i was freaked out reading reviews about VAYAMA. i didnt know what to do. i want to cancel my booking. im afraid it is already charged on my credit card and soon will find out it was not really booked at all. i took the chance and waited for their confirmation. i said to myself that if this day would pass, im already doomed. :(
5 hours has passed, no confirmation received yet.. so i decided to call customer service representative from the airline i booked to. im so glad to hear that the booking in the airline was already confirmed and i asked them to send the eticket to my email since VAYAMA hasnt emailed me the ticket/confirmation yet. after a while, i already received a confirmation email from VAYAMA saying that my ticket is already confirmed. and minutes after, the airline also emailed me my eticket. i was so happy it was not a hoax. i thought it was fake. im so glad that its not. MY TICKET WAS CONFIRMED BY THE AIRLINE & VAYAMA in 6 hours after i booked the ticket. :D not bad at all. :D would definitely book again at VAYAMA.
I tried to book with Vayama.com, but got an error. The mesasge said: "We're sorry, we could not confirm your booking by the airline. Please do not book again. One of our agents will review your booking and will let you know the status of your reservation."
Well... no agent called. So I decided to call. I talked to one representative that explained to me which error happened. When I asked him to fix it for me, he said that I should go back to the website and do it again. He said that often when they try to do it on the phone, they get errors. What a useless customer service!
I tried online and called again. Spoke to another representative who told me that they would have an agent call me in 5-10 minutes. Guess what? No call. I just went for another company!!!
I travelled with Vayama before and had a good experience. (Forwarded by Kayak.) However, this time, Vayama cancelled reservation but charged me $55 (fees). When I called, customer service was good at explaining that the transaction would be pending for 3-5 days and then fall off. I thought it would be better if I got a warning about such a charge and did not have to call for explanation. Also, I don't understand why Vayama puts SCAT, a Kazakhstani airline I tried to book, in its database but does not process its transactions. I think Vayama should work with SCAT or its bank, processing credit card payments to SCAT (Kazkommetsbank), to ensure that transactions of foreign origin get processed. Otherwise, what is the point of placing SCAT on Vayama to begin with? The cancellation message was: I got a message:
"Thank you for using Vayama. Unfortunately, we are not able to complete the booking for this particular trip. As a result, this booking has been canceled.
Why was my booking canceled?
In order to protect our customers from unauthorized card usage, all bookings must pass through a series of card verification checks. Unfortunately, some of these checks take additional time to complete, and (due to the short time-window before your first flight) we could not guarantee that your tickets would have been issued in time for your travel."
I bought airfare from Vayama through Kayak. Customer representatives are very horrible and never ever trust them. I was talking with one representative and agreed with the price. Later, I received another email that the airfare increased. I called them twice to solve the problem but none of them fixed. One of them told me that he would call me back in an hour later to solve the problem for me but never ever got response. Then, I called them again. He said you had to pay for the new price, but I explained him what was going on, and then he said "let me check it". Finally, he said the airfare was no more longer available for you. Really, at first he said you had to pay the new price, and one minute later he said it was no longer available for you. STUPID!!!! DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY. By the way, they also stole $1.00 from my account, and I won't let it go even a penny. Waste of time and screw my plan.
Unless I'm traveling on Alaska Airlines (I go directly to my frequent flyer account on their website because often times I'm booking award travel) I ALWAYS go to vayama.com and have for many years now because they offer a multitude of schedules, airlines and prices. I've never been disappointed buying my airline ticket(s) from them :)
I book the ticket from LAX to shanghai. As a non-frequent traveler, I never got warned that I need a visa for transfering flight in CANADA--as many other travel agencies would do. so my whole round trip was not possible because i do not have a valid visa to enter CANADA. AND the whole trip is not refundable. When I called them, they said they couldn't do anything but only cancel it. I was in a hurry to visit my critically ill mom, and this booking resulted in my failure to return to CHINA and complete loss of the money. If you can understand how i feel right now, I swear I would never buy any tickets and would never let my family members buy any tickets from them. I would kindly remind all my friends that be cautious if you choose this company to buy airline tickets.
I purchased a ticket one evening for a vacation. The next morning I received an email saying that the fare was rejected by the airline and was cancelled. I called the customer service and he said the same. He also said that vayama.com gets their fares FROM the airline. Why would it get rejected?!?!? While i was on the phone I searched the same flights and it was still on the website for the same price. He helped me rebook , no problem. Then, I get another email saying that the airline will not issue an electronic ticket, and they won't send me a paper ticket. This is the second time in my life I have used vayama.com and the second time they try to sell me a ticket they can't deliver. The first was in 2008, I fought them for 6 months they finally admitted they were wrong, agreed to send me a refund, but I never got it. In my opinion there are much better sites out there, use something else.
I have used Vayama many times for international travel in the past and it has always gone without a hitch. This time however was a nightmare! I booked my ticket on Aug. 21 and immediately got the verification. I understand that it can take another day to get the confirmation. However, I still hadn't received it by Aug. 23 so I called in on that morning to find out if there was a problem. That person told me everything was fine with CC and that the ticket should be issued within 2 hours. I still hadn't gotten any confirmation by that evening so I called again and they said it was being processed. So I waited and called on Aug. 24 morning when I still hadn't received any word. Again I asked if there was a problem because I really needed to know if I had this ticket or not. A very nice woman named Pam said she wasn't sure why it hadn't been issued because everything looked ok. She was very apologetic and said she would send it to be expedited. I still hadn't received anything by 9 pm so I call again. After waiting for this woman to again check it out she said there was something wrong with the CC. At least I think that is what she said - I was having a very hard time understanding her. She suggested I cancel that ticket and book a new one. She said she could do it for me. She cancelled the ticket and then all of a sudden I'm speaking to a man who says he's going to help me book the same ticket I had but then he couldn't find it. I had pulled it up on the website but he said he didn't have it so I read him the flight numbers. He took some time to punch it all in but then came back with the wrong flight for the last leg of the journey. Quite frankly by this time I was very nervous to continue with Vayama, I quickly looked on Expedia and found the same flight for the same price so I apologized to the young man saying that I knew the last few days were not his fault but I had had it with Vayama and was going to book my flight on Expedia. I hung up and within 15 min. had booked the same flight and ALSO gotten the confirmation!!!! My main issue is that in all the times I called in no one said there was any issue with my CC until tonight. By the way, I used the same credit card on Expedia and had no problem. I will be doing business with Expedia from now on. Vayama you've lost my business and I will not be referring anyone to you from now on.
We were first attracted to Vayama because of the good fares they seemed to offer, but now I wonder whether these are legitimate fare, as I haven't been able to get the ticket linked to that very fare! Usually, in this day and age, one books a ticket online, and confirmation is received right away. For some reason Vayama doesn't work that way, and they need 2 to 3 business days to issue the ticket!! This is much like it used to be when physical paper tickets were needed, about 20 years ago!! Anyway, first we tried to book through kayak.com, which asks you to put all your details, including credit card, before directing you to the Vayama website, where they ask you to put your credit card details again! Not wanting to be charged twice for the same ticket, we call them and they say that they would cancel this first booking, and that we should book again directly on the vayama website. First flag is raised in my head, why is kayak (or tripadvisor for that matter) providing offers from this website, if it is not actually possible to book directly and if it means having to re-do the whole process again? Deciding to trust vayama (history will tell if we were right), we book again, and this time somehow there was a glitch in the system, which I was told was linked to the fact that the bank took a while to confirm the payment, and the ticket was cancelled without notice. However, this did not prevent Vayama from collecting the money (if the cancellation was indeed linked to the delay in payment, then surely no money would have been debited from the account?). And only after calling them do they tell me that the money will be fully refunded, and that it would take 3 to 4 business days!! Now they were courteous enough, but why wasn't the money refunded right away when the ticket was cancelled 3 days ago? Is this some kind of maneuver to increase cash flows?? Obviously we don't want to book another ticket before seeing evidence of the refund, but the trip is scheduled in next week, by which time fares might have gone up (provided there is seat availability in the flights at all!). So for now I'm rating 2 stars, but be assured that I will come back to update my review if the money is not refunded on time, or if there is some problem or other. Sadly, after reading the other reviews, I'm not too confident, I've never seen such bad ratings, and while the company does seem responsive to each comment, there is no evidence that each problem was actually sorted, fingers crossed that this problem will be ! But in the meantime, use Expedia, Travelocity, or any other booking website really, it will save you a lot of hassle!
I never write reviews. I actually signed up to write this review. I would like to give no star if it was possible. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. This is my first time booking with them. I used to book with expedia, travelocity and orbitz. By far this is the worst experience.
Had to change a trip plan and needed to change my flight schedule one day earlier(keeping the returning date as same). I see alot of available dates/times at a comparable price if I book them new. However, VAYAMA would charge me extra $2,300 for the change and won't allow me to. This is just ridiculous. I don't know how they get away with this.
The fact that vayama checks and replies to the post, makes me believe that some of the positive post over here is generated by one of their own. Do not believe what they say. Go check yelp's review on the company and my expereince is confirmed by many others.
I can't remember the last time I spoke to someone about a airline reservation that was this GOOD. This is my 1st time to use VAYAMA but not my last. What a pleasant surprise. The price was great ; the help was super ; the ease of booking fantastic! From now on, they're my "to go to guys"!( can you tell, I liked em)
Vayama.com was very easy to book with. I could easily see their price and the travel details alongside other website's airfare prices. Vayama easily beat them all! When I overspent my debit card allowance, Vayama held my tickets for me until I could resolve the issue. Great website!
I wanted to change my dates as I had a death in my family and have been going thro a lot of pains. Adding to my pain is Vayama customer service. They are making my pain even more painful. My fly dates are approaching soon and they hardly care to respond or even look at my request. There is nobody I can call too as they say that all Change of Flights are taken care only thro' email. Now I am afraid that I will just loose my ticket as I wont be able to fly. Hope somebody from Vayama reads this and help me out.
