I have used Play.com for at least 12 years. I have never had an issue with them. I have always been satisfied with my purchases and speed of delivery.
Hab bis jetzt nur gute Erfahrungen gemacht. Auch die Seller haben immer geliefert und es ist noch nie was verloren gegangen. Da der Sitz des Shops aber auf den Kanalinseln liegt, kann es bei Produkten über 22 Euro auch mal zu Zollgebühren kommen. Aber nicht immer - der Zoll schläft eben manchmal auch.
I've used play for about a year now as the prices are just unbeatable! The site is easy to use and there is no delivery charge no matter how little you order. I would recommend this site to anyone.
I bought from a third party via Play.co.uk, item never arrived and I had all sorts of problems getting my money back. Play didnt want to know about third party problems. I have never returned.
Bought a couple of items that broke after 6 months minimal use.
Play.com were not interested. Standard letter denying all responsibility.
Poor customer service.
Will never use again.
This website has become a joke since it stopped selling directly (due to new tax rules)
I bought a Star Wars Box-set from a seller... when I bought it the seller had 3 positive and 1 neutral feedback, days later the same only now 8 negative feedback... ALL with the same concern...that the seller didn't post the item.
When you contact PLAY.COM (UK) you receive a standard response, I conplained about that and was give instructions NOT to contact the seller....then later on...to contact the seller!
It will take at least THREE WEEKS from my paying before I have any chance of a refund.... AVOID this site!

Quite a realiable company, but sadly the ONLY company I have ever had to raise a claim to get a payment via quidco. A claim that they rejected incorrectly. In this sense I consider them at worst dishonest and at least shambolic, so I will no longer be using them. I would recommend if anyone wants get a cashback via Quidco they think twice about using this company.
If you order directly from play.com you will most likely not experience any problems (not even with waiting-time, packaging, service or whatever).
But first time I ever ordered from one of their resellers I had several problems at once. So if you order from them, be sure to order directly from play.com.

Do not buy from this website. They do not check whether their traders are genuine as i had issues with this. My order did not arrive i contacted the seller but no reply. Although Play.com refunded me it was a waste of time and effort. Beware of a buyer by the name of nikkerz1984

Don't like play.com much anymore with all these traders, first time I've ordered from one and never received the item was a con. Go back to how it was play!!! However, play did refund me and communication was good, albeit quite a wait to have to process a refund.

For det meste cd'er, men af og til osse tøj og sko.
Alle mine bestillinger har jeg modtaget inden for 14 dage, i den stand som jeg regnede med. Jeg har kun haft god erfaring med dem!
Jeg bestilte en gallakjole gennem play.com og leveringen var hurtig og som forventet, shopper en del på nettet og havde kun hørt godt om hjemmesiden. MEN da jeg modtog kjolen var den på ingen måde som på billedet og levede slet ikke op til forventningerne. Derudover havde kjolen en løs knap. Da jeg kontaktede siden første gang bad de mig kontakte sælgeren hvilket jeg gjorde 4 gange stadig uden svar.. Jeg kontaktede også play.com igen, men denne gang også uden svar. Det er virkelig for ringe service!!
Så hvis I vil bestille noget over hjemmesiden så vær sikker på at det er noget i kender til på forhånd.
Very hit and miss. Sometimes things arrive and are fine. Sometimes items just don't arrive. They claim they tried to deliver when I was home and gardening in my front garden, so clearly didn't try....
Customer service not helpful at all. And emails, calls just go back and forth with them saying the same thing. Would not use them again as a first option.
I have spent money thinking it was money in my account from the online sales i have made but they have actually taken it out of my credit card when i wanted them to use the money on my account on play.com market which i made.
Great company - Used to buy LOADS! of DVD's & CD's from here. Don't need them so often now, but still a great site :)
I ordered a Shock Absorber sports bra which they sent right away so I was very pleased. When I opened it, there was an invoice with my item but it had a pair of cycling shorts instead. So I contacted their customer service and they said that I need to send this back and they will send me the correct order once they receive the shorts back. It was a hassle to do but had no choice as I really wanted my new sports bra...After about 10 days I contacted them to see if they had received the item and they said they hadn't. OK, fair enough, it can sometimes take longer. But then, out of the blue I received an automated email saying they refunded me for the item. And that was it, no other corespondence from them. So, I then wrote another email asking about my item and when will it get delivered and still no reply. So, I then phoned them to ask for an explanation and they said they didn't have the item in stock any longer and that was it. End of story....I think that is very poor customer service and that I won't be buying from them. I can't afford to be spending my time and money chasing something they did wrong in the first place. It took me a month to get to this outcome and I am no better off than when I started all this. Thanks a lot Play.com!
Purchased ipod speaker came incomplete without battery or cables. Completed the return process on their website and waited for collection as per the instructions. Nothing no contact at all. Sent follow on email and waited for response. Nothing again had no contact from them at all very poor will never use them again.

In the last month I made two purchases through Play.com and both were processed incorrectly. One item was double shipped (which could in all fairness be the vendor's fault) the other item was never shipped, the order was cancelled and I was not notified of the cancellation. When, after 2 weeks of waiting, I tried to contact Play.com to trace the order, I was unable to find any contact information of any kind for the company. Instead, I had to call the vendor directly and place the order again through them. Although Play.com is useful as a resource, I will no longer use them to process my orders as their service is neither accountable or reliable. In the future I will deal directly with the vendor and recommend this course of action to anyone thinking of purchasing through them.
I purchased this by mistake as I don't have a blu ray player so then purchased a normal one so needed to return the blu ray version. They wanted to charge me postage for the return which surely should be an on cost for their business and regardless, one of the reasons I buy on line is because of the easy returns policy - generally.
Anyway, after various email going around in circles, I emailed a complaint around 3 weeks ago and I have heard nothing back.
I will never be using Play again as the only reason I buy on the internet is if I can return with no problem or charge - as many of their competitors like Amazon do.
Real shame as I've been using them for years but do be careful!!!

I have purchased CD's, 3D glasses, charges, memory products, batteries all sorts always very good prices and delivered quickly.
I was used to buy my CDs and DVDs on play.com. After the company is renamed to Rakuten play.com, the quality of customer services deteriorates. If you buy things from them, you need to pray that your transaction is not cancelled or delay in post. If you are bad luck enough, like I was, have no choice but to call their customer services, I wish you good luck. Never again I will buy things from them.
Must admit I am surprised at all the negative reviews on here. I have been using Play.com for a number of years now and they are spot on every time. Perfect with no issues at all ever with them.
It's a shame really 2008/2009 I used to swear by play.. Amazing company fast, efficient, friendly service. What happened? 2010 I bought a Nintendo Wii very very excited promised it would turn up before Christmas.. As my father in law was very ill and my wife stressed this would be the ultimate cheer up Christmas. Half of the wii turned up on the 23rd 10 days after ordering. The delivery company left it on the front step of my house, mid terraced dodgy area. They also posted a note through saying they had delivered to another house on the street for safe keeping, yet here was the balance board on my door step... The house down the road had no knowledge of anything being left... Phoned Play and wouldn't resend items unless I sent the balance board back, would not refund either. Leavening to see my parents in law with my wife I had to buy another wii so £300 later I have a very expensive wii and a bad taste in my mouth. Christmas was good and my father in law loved the wii and it took his mind off of his health issues for a few weeks whilst he played wii sports etc....
2012 I think I will give play another go... Serious mistake items turn up late, sellers don't respond, I will never ever use this company again and will share my experiences with my friends so they aren't subjected to a very dissapointing shopping experience.
Free shipping sounds good, but it's extremely slow (took around 3 weeks to arrive to Finland). The packing wasn't that great either; the box arrived all banged up.
This was my last order from them, too bad Play.com used to be great place to order movies 'n games.

Auf den britischen Shop Play.com bin ich im Jahre 2009 aufmerksam geworden, als die Veröffentlichung von "Assassins Creed 2" kurz bevor stand. Ich wollte damals unbedingt eine der limitierten Black-Editions haben, da ich ein sehr großer Fan der Serie und Sammler war/bin. Die Suche nach der Black Edition führte mich also zu Play.com. Zu meiner Freude, war sie auch noch vorrätig, sodass ich mir gleich zwei Exemplare sicherte. Weil der Preis in Euro angezeigt wurde, wusste ich automatisch, dass dieser Artikel auch außerhalb des Vereinigten Königreiches zugestellt werden konnte. Steht der Preis dagegen nur in britischen Pfund, heißt dies, dass nur eine Auslieferung auf der Insel möglich ist. So hat man die wichtigste Information gleich auf einen Blick.
Ich bestellte dort also die Artikel und musste mit einer Kreditkarte zahlen. Da ich dies öfter machte, stellte es für mich auch kein Problem dar. Ich habe jedenfalls keine negativen Erfahrungen gemacht und von meiner Karte wurde auch nur der fällige Betrag zum Monatsende abgebucht.
Selbstverständlich musste ich auch ein Kundenkonto anlegen, was aber keine große Hürde darstellte. Lediglich meine persönlichen Daten (für die Auslieferung) wurden benötigt. Einige Tage vor dem Release bekam ich eine Mail, dass die Artikel via Royal Mail an die angegebene Adresse verschickt wurden und 2-3 Tage später erhielt ich dann ein Paket von der Insel. Die beiden Boxen waren in einem sehr guten Zustand (was mir als Sammler sehr, sehr wichtig ist) und konnten sich nahtlos in meine Sammlung einfügen. Mit der Abwicklung über Play.com bin ich sehr zufrieden. Die Seite an sich ist sehr übersichtlich und durch die sehr gute Preisauskunft weiß ich gleich, welcher Artikel für mich in Frage kommt und welcher nicht. Außerdem war die Lieferzeit sehr schnell und die Qualität war überzeugend.
Play.com bietet aber nicht nur Videospiele an, sondern ist vielmehr ein großes Portal, welches viele Artikel rund um den elektronischen Bedarf anbietet. DVDs, BluRays, Musik, Bücher aber auch Kleidung und Sportsachen befinden sich in dem umfangreichen Sortiment. Da ich bisher nur Elektronikartikel dort bestellt habe, kann ich zu den anderen Dingen leider keine Auskunft geben. Ich kann mir aber nicht vorstellen, dass es eine Abweichung von der guten Abwicklung geben sollte, nur weil man andere Artikel bestellt. Man sollte allerdings bedenken, dass nicht jeder Artikel auch nach Deutschland geliefert werden kann, aber das kann man ja leicht erkennen. Play.com ist daher meines Erachtens weiterzuempfehlen, weil es sich um einen verlässlichen und transparenten Online-Shop handelt.

It started out positive as every other previous purchase through play.com, got the notification e-mail that order ID 292710824 was dispatched. I then waitied for about 2 or 3 weeks for the goods to turn up without any success, I contacted the Vendor (i.e. BlurayKing) via play.com, there was no reponse. I then escalated by contacting the customer helpdesk at play.com. They eventually responded to my e-mails after 3 attempts (Not good).
Play.com customer service later open a claim (# 9936458) to refund the transaction IF the vendor still fails to deliver within 5 working days. I did follow up with the customer service at play.com after 5 working days only to be informed that "Claim #9936458 had been closed because the vendor informed them that this issue was resolved".
Now common sense would imply that I the buyer who opened the case against the vendor that never delivered on the sale would be the person to confirm that the issue was resolved and that the claim could be closed, but unfortunately it seems the customer service at play.com would rather honour a disapointing vendors opinion rather than a loyal customer.
Anyway, I did ask my Credit card company to void the transaction since the purchase was never delivered and I will be closing down my account at play.com once this nightmare is over.
Shame on the Customer Service at play.com, what a drain on resources that lot is.
I've ordered a number of items from play.com this Christmas as they came in with the most competitive price on a lot of the items I was looking for. I received emails to advise when to expect the items which was very helpful. One item did not arrive on time but I replied to the email of the missing item and they sent off another copy with no quibble. I will definitely use play.com in the future.
Fairly happy with Play, easy to use site and almost always a very good price.
Only annoyance is that items do seem slower to despatch than say a year ago, new owners maybe?
All round pleased though so happy to recommend :)
Waited 3 weeks for stuff to arrive and got hit with customs bill because this company operates outside the euro zone
I have used this site for years, and I have never had a problem with it, it so cheaper than in Denmark and the delivery is free!
I have used Play.com for years (spent a lot too!) and never had prob .... UNTIL this time last year. I placed several orders for Christmas presents (2011). Give them their due all arrived bar two. Both out of stock. One I got an email to apologise and explain they couldnt provide. I was very disappointed as it was so close to Christmas but hey ho. It was the second item that really finished me off!!!
I was told out of stock but would be in before Christmas 2011 ... nope it wasnt then another email to say stock in and be out soon (Feb 2012).... nope it wasnt! They even had a cheek to email me 7 months later to say I had an outstanding order (which stock coming in) did I still want the order fullfilled ... YES Please :) Guess what a year later from original order and I still dont have the item but give them their due least they not charged me for it.
Unfortunately for Play.com ... they have lost all my trust and therefore any future orders. Good news for Amazon and Ebay tho!!!

Ordered several items on Sunday and they arrived on Thursday.
I paid extra for 1st class delivery and annoyingly they weren't dispatched until Wednesday but they all arrived intact and well packaged within a reasonable timescale.
Ordering was easy and the prices of the items were very competitive.
Would use again :)
Getting fed up with online companies selling inferior goods to unsuspecting public. Be warned, you can't see the product before hand so don't believe everything you read.
Bought a brand new CD, (Pink - Greatest Hits) and it didn't come in its original case - just a paper sleeve. I bought it as a present and my mum wasn't too impressed, she thought I had got it second hand off of eBay!!
When you then search their website for answers, you either have to return the item (impossible seeing as I have already given it as a birthday present) or accept the fact that they are not advertising their products correctly. Not impressed.
Really disappointed with Play.com. They cancelled my preorder of Assassin's Creed for my husband on the day of release! No explanation, I had to chase them up about it and apparently they just decided they weren't going release it. They must have let so many people down. Absolutely terrible company, I would not recommend them.

I Pre-Odered an item near 3 weeks before release, Half way through the day of release they send me an email saying they are out of stock and have been since the 21st 2 days before the item hit the market and have refunded my money. Why could they not send this email on the 21st that way i could have purchased elsewhere at the same price now today it has trebled in price. I will never shop here again.
I bought a book from play.com 6 weeks ago, which I never received. The seller has not responded to a single one of my emails. I have tried to get the refund from play.com. using their online form gets no response. I tried calling them on their ridiculously expensive 0845 number, holding on the line for 15 minutes before getting through to an agent, only to be told that I will need to wait a further 3 working days and on the fourth working day I will get a refund. This is already after waiting 15 days and raising numerous claims using their online service which says after 3 working days, they will offer you a refund. Fifth working day I sent them an email, no response as usual. 7th working day I called them, only to be told they have to raise a claim with the Head Office for a refund, which should be processed in ANOTHER THREE WORKING DAYS. That passed. Called them again the following week. Said they do not know what the hold up is, will check and email me later. Nothing. Have been sending emails every few days since then trying to get my refund, but play.com's customer services have not responded to a single one of my emails, possible 8 have been sent now, to help me get this refund from one of their sellers. I have no spend more on the phone calls than the worth of the book as I only have a mobile and they are in Jersey. The few quid you save from ordering from this site is not worth changing it over. And besides, if we don't collectively boycott organisations like these that treat customers in that way, then they will never change. Stand up for what's right and spend your money elsewhere with a company that offers excellent customer service like amazon or ebay.

After ordering a game in good time for my son birthday i realised a few days before i still had not recieved it!! as it did not arrive by my sons birthday 10 days later. i gave the supplier bad feedback to which he sent a lovely email stating it a family business and was very sorry asking me to remove the feedback and he will refund me for my troubles and keep the game!! I did this but never recieved the game and when i contacted the supplier he was not so friendly. i would never use this company again full of cowboys suppliers.
I ordered a Nikon D800 from Play in February March. They were trying to match the price of Amazon, which had gone down considerably at the time. After just 3 months of waiting they cancelled the order, saying that they could no longer get the product. A month before that I had wrong up Play and have been assured that Play would not do this by the staff. In the end I paid over £300 more elsewhere for the product and £200 than I would if I had ordered the camera from somewhere else.
I will never use Play again and would advise others not to, as I have had some other bad experiences with them not getting products in before.
